My Story.
My career and knowledge did not happen overnight. It was built step by step through hard work, hands-on experience, and learning at every stage. What I thought would simply be a fun job picking up trash at Knott’s Berry Farm became the foundation of my career. From there, I moved into plastic manufacturing, duct manufacturing, warehousing, purchasing, Environmental Services at a hospital, and ultimately into the largest dental laboratory in the U.S., supporting an organization of approximately 4,300 employees.
Throughout this journey, I developed a strong understanding of manufacturing, inventory management, purchasing, and, most importantly, custodial operations. Bringing all of that experience together has given me a well-rounded, end-to-end view of operations and a distinct advantage in understanding how everything connects, functions, and impacts the overall business.
As my career evolved, I began combining cost savings with operational excellence. My purchasing experience opened my eyes to how much smart sourcing, process improvement, and material control can impact overall operating costs. That is when I started treating every business I worked for as if it were my own. In custodial operations, the department may not directly generate revenue, but it can absolutely protect revenue by driving savings, improving standards, and exceeding expectations.
What I value most about custodial work is that it goes far beyond trash and restroom supplies. It is about creating clean, safe environments that positively impact people every day while also driving operational efficiency and reducing overall costs. One life-changing moment happened while I was working at the largest hospital in South Orange County. A nurse told me, “Doctors can diagnose, nurses can care for patients, but without EVS, patients would die.” That perspective changed everything for me. It showed me that this work is critical, and it pushed me to care more deeply, lead with purpose, and instill that same pride in the people I lead, train, and support.
